Psychologist practicing in Marbella and Sotogrande, specializing in addictions and eating disorders.
Paula Romero is a psychologist who earned her degree in Psychology from the University of Granada (2017–2021). In 2021, she completed a Master’s degree in General Health Psychology at the University of Almería, as well as a Master’s degree in Prevention and Intervention in Addictive Behaviors and a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Vitoria-EUNEIZ. She joined the Dr. Hallin Medical Center team in 2022 and, since 2025, has been seeing children, adolescents, adults, and families in Spanish and English at the Marbella and Sotogrande clinics.
ADDICTIONS AND EATING DISORDERS (EDs)
Her clinical experience focuses particularly on treating addictive behaviors and eating disorders (EDs). She received specialized training in this area at ELCA (a specialized ED unit) and works within a multidisciplinary model in coordination with Dr. Rosa Sánchez, a nutrition specialist.
ADHD, LEARNING, AND AUTISM SPECTRUM
She has specific expertise in assessing ADHD, executive functions, learning disorders, and autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in both children and adults. She holds specialized training in learning disorder assessment from the Massachusetts General Hospital Psychiatry Academy (affiliated with Harvard University).
CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGY
Her training in Child and Adolescent Psychology enables her to address the psychological needs of children and adolescents in a specialized manner. She takes into account their developmental stage, family context, and individual characteristics, tailoring assessment and treatment processes to each patient.
SPRAVATO® (ESKETAMINE)-ASSISTED THERAPY
She has specific experience in psychological therapy assisted by Spravato® (esketamine) treatment. She supports patients throughout the therapeutic process, facilitating the exploration of emotional content that is subsequently integrated into the psychotherapy—all within a multidisciplinary model and under medical supervision. THERAPEUTIC APPROACH AND
MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
Her practice incorporates third-wave therapies—specifically Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), and functional behavior analysis—using a contextual, individualized, and evidence-based approach. In 2023, she took on the role of Head of Hospital Admissions at the Dra.
